MRS. MARTHA D. THOMPSON
     Mrs. Martha DAVIS THOMPSON died suddenly on Tuesday, June 28, 1994, at her 
Irvington residence.  Mrs. THOMPSON was born December 21, 1920 in Locust Hill, 
Ky., in Breckinridge County, a daughter of the late Johnny and Nettie SAFFER 
(should be Johnny and Nettie SAFFER DAVIS).  She was owner of the Valley Motel in 
Irvington, and retired from Pillsbury-Ballard Company in Louisville after 35 
years.  Mrs. THOMPSON was a WAC veteran of World War II.
     Surviving her are:
one sister
and several nieces and nephews.
     The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 1994, at the Alexander 
Funeral Home chapel, Irvington.  Burial was in the Horsley Cemetery.
