Mrs. WELLS and her husband, Belford WELLS, who survives, had been making their home with a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Evalene) MARTIN in Livermore in McLean County, for the past several months. She was born November 20, 1899 the daughter of the late Ed and Elizabeth "Betty" BRICKEY HINTON. Surviving in addition to her husband and daughter mentioned above is: another daughter: Houston (Marcella) TAUL of Route #3, Hardinsburg, Ky one son: Belford WELLS, Jr. of Cloverport, Ky A son, James, was killed in action on November 29, 1943 serving with the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II. Other survivors include: one sister: Mrs. Joe (Viola) SMILEY of Cloverport, Ky five brothers: John HINTON of Cloverport, Ky Vessie HINTON of Cloverport, Ky Virgil HINTON of Cloverport, Ky Elmo HINTON of Webster, Ky (Breckinridge County) Charles HINTON of Lewisport, Ky (Hancock County) Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 12, 1978 from the Cloverport Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Burial was in the Christian Church Cemetery, Cloverport, Mattingly Route, under the direction of the Harry L. Dhonau Funeral Home of Cloverport.
