Mrs. Henson WHITE, age 29, died of a head injury while being taken to Ireland General Hospital at Fort Knox, Ky (Hardin County). She was a passenger in a car driven north by her sister, Mrs. Betty Jean WILES, age 34, also of Cloverport, Ky (Breckinridge County). The other car driven south on Dixie Highway, crossed into the northbound lane, and collided head on with Mrs. WILES'S car. Mrs. WILES received minor injuries. The driver of the other car, Robert H. Merryman, age 41, of Marengo, Indiana (Crawford County), was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor. He was treated with a chest injury. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Grant Memorial Methodist Church in Cloverport, Ky. Breckinridge County Herald-News, Hardinsburg, Friday, November 24, 1961 OBITUARY Jo Anne WHITE, (maiden name: HAGGARD), of Cloverport, Ky., died Monday, November 13, 1961 in a car accident on Dixie Highway at Muldraugh, Ky (Meade County). Mrs. WHITE was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wick HAGGARD of Cloverport, Ky. She was born December 9, 1932 at Munfordville, Ky (Hart County). She is survived by: her parents her husband, Mr. Henson WHITE two daughters: Martha Jo Lu Anne two sisters: Mrs. Bettie/Betty WILES of Cloverport, Ky Mrs. Erma BLAKE of Scottsdale, Arizona (Maricopa County) Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 16, 1961 from the Grant Memorial Methodist Church, in which she was a member. Burial was in Cloverport Cemetery, directed by the Dhonau Funeral Home of Cloverport, Ky. Additional Comments: Breckinridge County Cemetery Book, volume 1, published in 1991, and cemetery book volume 2, published in 1997: I found Henson WHITE (Jo Anne HAGGARD WHITE'S husband) listed with two tombstones.
