     Beulah Rhea WINCHEL, age 103 years, formerly of Hardinsburg, Ky, died on 
Friday, December 25, 2015 at her residence in Bowling Green, Ky., (Warren 
County).  She was born in Franks, Ky in Breckinridge County on January 8, 
1912, a daughter of the late William and Orpha Pearl KIPER WINCHEL.
     Beulah received her teaching degree at Western Kentucky University, her 
Masters of Library Sciences from Peabody College, and was a member of the 
Breckinridge County Retired Teachers Association.  Her teaching career spanned 
many decades, schools, and continents beginning at a one-room school in Axtel, 
Ky which is in southern Breckinridge County.
     After retirement, she returned to Hardinsburg as a librarian in the 
Breckinridge County School System.  She also taught in several schools in 
Louisville, Ky.
     As a member of the Army Civilian Special Services, she served as 
Education Specialist and Lirarian in Kyoto, Japan; Karlshule & Frankfort, 
Germany; Orleans, France, and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
She is survived by:
her half-sister:
Joyce (Bob) VERSTRAETE of Shawnee, Kansas (Johnson County)
four nieces
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralston 
Gene WINCHEL, the father of her four nieces.
     Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in 
Hardinsburg, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. CST, with burial in 
the McDaniels Cemetery.
