OBITUARY   Page 6

     Van Alfred WOODS, age 89, a resident of Medco Center (Nursing Home) of 
Fordsville, Ky in Ohio County, died at 12:12 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 
1991, at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, following a lengthy illness.  
He was born on August 12, 1902, in Breckinridge County, the son of the late 
Ben WOODS and Mary STAPPLE WOODS.  He was a retired farmer.  Survivors 
include:
two daughters:
Lucy MAYS
Judy SMILEY
one son:
William HORTON
one sister:
Ella WILKERSON of Union Star, Ky (Breckinridge County)
6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
     The funeral was held on Saturday, November 2, 1991 from the chapel of the 
Poole-Willoughby Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with burial in the New Bethel 
Cemetery.
