I found these marriage records in Spencer County, Indiana:
Obedient BEARD & Sarah MAYBERRY  married 6 Oct 1848
Obedient BEARD & Catherine VANDEVER/VANDIVER  married 26 Dec 1965 and 3 Jan 1866 
(two different spellings of her surname with two different dates)

1870 Jackson Township, Spencer County, Ind census lists Obediant BEARD age 51; 
wife Catherine, age 27, Reason age 12 and William T. age 9; along with 4 other 
children.  All born in Indiana.  Catherine can't be Reason & William's mother.
