Additional Comments:
Letitia Jane Keys, nicknamed "Puss," was born on 5 October 1843 in Breckinridge 
County, Kentucky, to Jesse Edward Keys (born in Virginia) and Susan (or 
Susannah) Cork (or Caulk) (born in Virginia).  The reference on the death 
certificate to "Susan Freschire" as Letitia's mother is mistaken.  Susannah 
Freshour (Americanized variant of Froschauer) was Letitia's maternal 
grandmother.  Jesse and Susannah Cork/Caulk married in Clarksburg, Harrison 
County, Virginia (now West Virginia) on 1 September 1825, and migrated to 
Breckinridge County, Kentucky by 1830. Letitia married John M. Shellman on 15 
Feb 1872 at the home of Samuel McAfee, Breckinridge County, Kentucky.  The 
couple had at least 4 children.  The informant identified on the death 
certificate, Carrie Elder, is Susan Carrie Shellman Elder, the eldest child of 
Letitia Jane Keys Shellman.  Letitia is buried in the Shellman (Old Shiloh) 
Cemetery in Union Star, Breckinridge County, Kentucky.
