I found Eli and Colletta TAUL in the 1900 census of Owensboro City, Daviess 
County, Ky 
In 1910 census they were living in Ward 3, Cloverport, Breckinridge County, Ky
In 1920 census they were living in Ward 7, Alton City, Madison County, Illinois
In 1940 census Eli age 70 and Colletta age 62 were living alone in Wood River, 
Madison County, Illinois.
As best I can tell they had 8 children: extracted from the 1900, 1910 & 1920 
census, all born in Kentucky:
1- Evelyn TAUL  born Feb 1897.  Married to Curtis O'CONNOR, living in 1920 
census, age 28, born in Indiana with a son named Robert O'CONNOR, age 2 2/12 born 
Ky, and a daughter, Mary J. O'CONNOR age 5 months old, born in Illinois
2- Paul Morris TAUL born June 1898
3- Theodore TAUL born about 1901
4- Joseph Roy TAUL born about 1903
5- Lorna TAUL born about 1904, died between 1910 and 1920
6- Myrtle TAUL born about 1905
7- John E. TAUL born about 1906
8- Golan C. TAUL born about 1909

In 1900 I found Eli M. TAUL listed  as "Edie M. TANT" on Ancestry's census Index.
In 1910 his surname was spelled TAULE. 

I found Eli and Colletta in the Alton, Illinois City Directories, years:
1921: Eli M. TAUL, 1903 Park Avenue, Alton, Illinois
      Occupation: Carpenter  Spouse: Coletta TAUL
1923: living in the same place
1924: Eli M. TAUL  B Carp, Residence: 1124 E. 7th, Alton, Illinois
      Spouse: Collette TAUL
1927: Eli M. TAUL  Residence: end of College Avenue, Mail R.R.2, Alton, Illinois
      Spouse: Colletta TAUL
1930: Eli M. TAUL Residence: of Aubin Avenue, R.R. 2, Alton, Illinois
      Spouse: Mary C. TAUL
NOTE: Her full name is Mary Colletta WETHINGTON TAUL.

In the 1910 census of Cloverport, Ward 3, Breckinridge County, Ky, I believe they 
are Colletta's parents, and was living next door to her and Eli:
lines 60 - 64, Sheet #10B  All born in Ky, and their parents, too  
WETHINGTON, W.B.     age 66 married twice for 8 yrs  no occupation
            Emma J.  age 61 married twice for 8 yrs  no occupation
            W.G. son age 24 single  no occupation
ROACH, Frank  son-in-law age 23 married once for 2 yrs laborer Tiling Plant
       Sarah  dau age 17 married once for 2 yrs, no children
W.B WETHINGTON was a Veteran, Union Army, Civil War, and his wife Sarah is not 
Colletta's mother.
I hope this helps the person who is researching this TAUL family.
