I, James Quiggins of the County of Breckinridge and the State of Kentucky, being now ailing in boddy but of sound mind and disposing memory calling to mind the uncertainty of most life and knowing that it is appointed onto all man kind once to die. These in order for the better of my ....?..... do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the following form ( to wit ) First I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried. Secondly, As to my worldly goods, my will is that my wife Jane to have and to keep to support on all my estate both ..?... and personal for during her natural life time to the discharge of my funeral expenses & the payment of my just debts during her widowhood and in case she should marry I do want my property equal divided between my children. And as I owe but little I request of the Court that they do not require security of Jane my wife executor believing she will discharge her duty. This is my last will, do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness I do affix my hand and seal this 13th of May 1844. James Quiggins ( X ) his mark Witnesses: William Gregory Jonathan Hay I do hereby make the following Codicil (Viz) I desire that my son James A. Quiggins stay with his mother until he is twenty one years of age. Should the said James A. stay until he is twenty one, I will and bequest the most valuable horse that his mother then may own in addition to what I have devised to him in the within will.
