WILLIAM HOWLETT is a native of Bullitt County, and was born February 8, 1839. He is a son of Luke and Eliza (Lee) Howlett; the former a native also of Bullitt County, born in 1809, and the latter born September 29, 1811. William, the subject, is the second son in a family of ten children. He was brought up on the farm and educated in the common schools, finishing up in the Bradenburg High School, then in charge of Prof. D. C. Cully, an excellent educator of that day. He married Miss Elizabeth Ellen Dawson, November 1, 1867, and at once moved onto his own farm. They have had eight children, viz: Margaret Ann, John L. Charles Wm. Franklin, James Lloyd Standford, boy died without being named, Lawrence Curtis, Eliza Elizabeth and Hallie Cathrian. Howlett Lee Cully Dawson Meade-KY
