Grayson May 3rd 1863 Dear Cosin Yours of the 27th April is at hand and in compliance with your request no less than with my own wishes I hasten to answer it. We are all well at the presant. Tell cosin Mary that I sincerely sympathize with her and ardently desire her restoration I trust her disease will yield readily to medical treatment and when next I here from her it will be under her own hand assureing me of her convalesence. We all send our fondest love to you all. Tell uncil and aunt to write to us. I seen your cosins on Rockcreek a few days after you left they seemed to be very sorrow because you did not call on them. I told them that you did not feel safe by staying too long in the country and you had been long from home and felt anxious to see your father. Don't give out coming to see us all if you can posably help it and bring cosin mary if you come Surtin and tell uncil Elick to come and bring his family to see us all in grayson once more it he pleases. I was at a Weading & Infare las week of Brother lecks. He married one miss Higdon. Eliza and I was to see uncil Nathan Neighbors. This winter cosin Sue came home with us and spent two weeks going to see her kin folks. I am sorrow the yankeeys treated you so Rough. I hope they will have enough stolen to do them the balance of there days pretty soon. Recon you new politics are worth to you what you had stolen from you. That is if you join them and have as good luck to steel as them But I am satisfied that you wont join soon without a great change and those changes are very real in sensible men. You have not ought hered about morgan coming though Grayson and Nathan Storms going with him. We hered from the grayson Boys in the Reble Army about a week since and they were all well then. They had a sudden death in paps family soon after you left for home. Old aunt Betsy droped dead withoug any sickness at all.
