Deed Bk B p. 248 Frederic William (GRAYSON), Clerk of the County Court of Bullitt County to William MACKBEE of the County aforesaid. Witnesseth that according to an order of the said Court the said GRAYSON doth put William NEALE, a poor Child five years of age on the 13th day of March last, an apprentice to the said Wm. MOCKBEE after the manner of an apprentice to serve and obey the said William from this day until he shall reach the age of twenty one years and the said William MOCKBEE covenants with the said GRAYSON and his successors that he will cause to be instructed the same William NEALE the business of a Hatter and also reading and writing and Common arithmatic including the rule of three and during the said Term of his apprenticeship shall find and provide for the said apprenticement drink, washing, lodging and apparel with all things fit and necessary for an apprentice and at the end of Term shall pay the said apprentice three hundred ten Shillings and a decent new suit of Clothes. GRAYSON William MOCKBEE The consent to putting William NEALE an apprentice to William MOCKBEE according to the within Indenture 5 Sep 1808 signed byElem SWEARENGEN Ben POPE J. ALEXANDER Recorded 24 Oct 1808 Bullitt County KY Court Immediately following is another agreement between Mr. GRAYSON for William MOCKBEE to take "Eliza NEALE a poor Child eight years of age on the first of October last an apprentice to the said William" "that he will instruct or cause her to be instructed the business of a Seemster, Spinster and Housewife and also reading writing " She was to receive three pounds ten shillings and a new suit of Clothing at the end of her term. The consent was signed and dated the same as above and was also recorded 24 Oct 1808 Bullitt Co. KY Court.
