Deed Book F p.363 Wear TILFORD and Joseph BOWMAN, late merchants trading under the firm of TILFORD & BOWMAN of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part to Jacob BOWMAN of the same County and State of the other part. Witnesseth the said Wear TILFORD and Joseph BOWMAN for and in Consideration of the sum of one Dollar and the Conditions hereafter mentioned have granted bargained and sold all the right, Interest and title to the lots and tan yard thereon in the Town of Shepherdsville in the Occupancy of FIELD & TILFORD together with the Stock on and now in the yard and all things belonging appertaining to said TILFORD also the said Wear TILFORD's right title and Claim to the following Negro Slaves To Wit: Lucinda aged about Thirty years, Peter aged about twenty six years, Bill aged about thirteen years and Nathan aged about Ten years and the said TILFORD's right title and Claim to a Lot and the improvements thereon in the Town of Lancaster in Garrard County Kentucky, also the said Joseph BOWMAN's right title and Claim to a Lot in the town of Shepherdsville adjoining George W. JENKINS. To Have and to hold the above described real and personal property to him the said Jacob BOWMAN his heirs forever free and clear of and from the Claim Provided Nevertheless that whereas the said Jacob BOWMAN and Wear TILFORD were once partners in Merchandize under the firm of WEAR TILFORD & CO. during the Continuance of which a Debt was contracted to one Wilford LEE and a Note Executed by the said W. TILFORD and J. BOWMAN for five hundred Dollars which Debt with Interest thereon is yet due, Also a Debt to the United States Bank of about Nine hundred and twenty five Dollars which Sum or thereabout is near due and owing and the said Jacob BOWMAN holds a Note on the said Wear TILFORD and Joseph BOWMAN for four thousand Dollars dated 3 February 1820 payable one day after date on which Note Interest is to be Calculated from the 4th day February 1820 until paid. Now if the said Wear TILFORD and Joseph BOWMAN shall well and truly pay and Satisfy the said Jacob BOWMAN his heirs the said Sum of four thousand Dollars with Interest as aforesaid until paid on or before the expiration of Six months from the date hereto and the said Wear TILFORD shall well truly save and keep harmless the said Jacob BOWMAN his heirs from the payments of the Debts as aforesaid due by the firm of W.
