BROOKS of the first part of Bullitt Co. and State of KY., and Perry HILTON aforesaid party of the Second part of the County of Bullitt and State of Ky. Eliza BROOKS of the first part has sold to Perry HILTON of the Second part, a tract of land known as the Bird HODGE place to when lying and being in the County of Bullitt and State of Ky., on the south side of the county and leading from Shepherdsville to Bardstown, and adjoining land of A.J. & W.T. SIMMONS land farm, also owned by Leroy DANIELS, Cane Spring Company and others. Beginning at a stake & beech in SIMMONS line and near Fergusons corner, thence South west to Hickory and Chestnut Oak Stump in FERGUSONS line, thence East unto CHESHIRE line to a black locust Stump, thence South West Same line to DOOMS 400 acre line to a Chestnut-Oak, thence north East unto DOOMS line to Simmons line, thence with SIMMONS line to the beginning supposed to Contain twelve acres more or less. Now Eliza BROOKS of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred dollars in hand paid by said Perry HILTON the receipts whereof are hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained, sold and hereby Convey by deed of General Warranty said tract of land known as the Bird HODGE lot being and lying in the Bullitt County, in the State of Kentucky. HALL, Clerk of the Bullitt County Court, in the State of Kentucky certify that on the third day of May 1886, the foregoing deed from Eliza BROOKS to Perry HILTON was produced to me in my office and acknowledged and delivered before me by Eliza BROOKS a party whereto to be her Act and Deed and it then lodged and ordered to be recorded and I have truly recorded it with this Certificate in my office this the 4th day of May 1886. Hodges (age 55 is living in the Pine Tavern District, East of the L& N RR 9 (Darnell 1992:112). Other members of his houseold (43/46) are Arminda, 30, wife; Desdamone, 13, daughter; William, 11, son; Sarah, 8, daughter; Armazinda, 6, daughter; Duff, 2, son; Laton 2/12 (mar) son; and Alzano Kimball, 24, servant.
