Deed Book B p. 150 Samuel BIRD and Sarah his wife of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky to Gordon (?) GRUNDY of the County and State aforesaid... for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid hath granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Bullitt on the waters of Crooked Creek being a tract of land purchased by S'd BIRD from Henry WOOD. KY Deed Book B p. 618 This Indenture made this 5th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between Frederick William Spence GRAYSON, Clerk of the County Court of Bullitt of the one part and Wm. LEE of the County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that according to an order of the said Court the said GRAYSON hath put and by these presents doth put Jerry BIRD a poor Child an apprentice to the said LEE from this day until he shall arrive to the age of twenty one years and the said LEE Covenants with the said GRAYSON and his Successors that he will teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed the business of a Farmer and also reading writing and Common arithmatic including the rule of three and during the said Term of Apprenticeship shall find and proved for his said apprentice meat, drink, washing, lodging and apparel with all things fit and necessary for an apprentice and at the end of the said term shall pay said apprentice three pounds two shillings and a decent new suit of Clothes.
