Deed Bk K p. 2 NATHAN EVANS of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part and ROBERT F. SAMUELS, DAVID CASWELL and HAMILTON C. ULEN of the County and State aforesaid... that for the consideration hereafter exposed has bargained and sold unto the said SAMUELS, CASWELL and ULEN the following negro slaves Towit: ELIZA, BOB SMITH, TOM WEST, CHARLOTTE, CHARLES, GEORGE, JIM and SOPHIA the first four named being the same negroes this day purchased by said EVANS at commissioners sale under a Decree of the Hart Circuit Court to them the said SAMUELS, CASWELL and ULEN, and to their heirs forever. The Condition of this Indenture is this, that the said SAMUELS, CASWELL and ULEN have this day entered into securities for said EVANS in a note this day given by said EVANS for the sum of Eighteen Hundred and Sixty two dollars payable to GEORGE T. WOOD as Commissioner under said Decree. Now in Case said EVANS should well and truly pay off and satisfy said note at maturity and save himself the said SAMUELS, CASWELL and ULEN in consideration of their said Securityship then and in that case this Indenture shall be null and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue. Deed Bk K p. 18 PETER CASWELL and JAMES CASWELL of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part and ROBERT F. SAMUELS of the same County and State of the second part... that for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained and sold the following described personal property towit: two hedd of horses, about fifty head of hogs, large and small, two Cows and three calves, two beds and furniture and about ten acres of Corn standing in the field... upon the Condition that whereas PETER CASWELL and JAMES CASWELL and WILLIAM SWEASY is indebted to the said ROBERT F. SAMUELS by note dated 19 June 1842 and payable the 1 November 1842 for the sum of Forty Six Dollars Eighty Cents payable in Corn or pork delivered to said SAMUELS at his house at the lowest cash price and the said PETER CASWELL and JAMES CASWELL is indebted in the further sum of Four Dollars twelve and one half cents by note dated and due of ---- date with their presents Now if the said PETER CASWELL or JAMES CASWELL or WILLIAM SWEASY shall well and truly pay off and discharge said Note when due and shall also pay off said note which is now due - Then this deed of Mortgage to be null and void else to be and remain in full force and Virtue in Law this day and date aforesaid. I know he had daughter Elizabeth who married William SWEENY 11 May 1840 Bullitt Co., daughter Maria who married Silas G. ELZY 13 Dec 1843 in Bullitt Co. and daughter Eliza who married James McCUNE 24 Dec 1844 in Bullitt Co. KY. Was James his son? Was Henry CASWELL who married Eliza Jane EVANS 7 Jan 1850 in Bullitt Co. another son?
