Deed Book I p. 334 Benjamin F. CALDWELL of the one part to William KURTZ of the second part that for and in Consideration of the Sum of hereafter loaned him by KURTZ have sold and by these presents do sell and convey to the said William KURTZ the following tract of land in Bullitt County Containing 130 or 150 acres being the Same tract on which said CALDWELL lives on the waters of Long lick creek, the same land purchased by CALDWELL at Sheriffs Sale of William KING's property, reference the deed made in Bullitt County Court. Provided on this condition that the said Wm KURTZ has this day loaned the said CALDWELL the sum of Two hundred and thirty Dollars and taken his note therefore payable on the 10th of October 1841 with Interest from the 10 October 1841 till paid and to Secure the Payment of the Said Sum of money said CALDWELL has mortgaged the land above. Now if the said CALDWELL shall pay off and discharge the note when the same becomes due this conveyance will be of no effect. Recorded 12 Oct 1840 Bullitt Co. KY Court 26 November 1838 Bullitt Co. Deed Bk I p. 259 Septamus TOMLINSON of the one part and Jefferson RAYERDON and John MONRO of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Sep TOMLINSON on his part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ten dollars to me in hand paid by John CALDWELL of the state and county aforesaid acknowledge and this day have bargained and sold to Jefferson RAYERDON and John MONRO and their heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel or tract of land lying in the county aforesaid bounded by Salt River and CALDWELL's gate being the land deeded by Thomas DAVIS to the said TOMLINSON which said TOMLINSON doth warrant and defend (signed) Septimus TOMLINSON Lucy TOMLINSON Recorded 26 Nov 1838 Bullitt Co. Court Lucy is not mentioned in the body of the deed but she does sign and when the deed is recorded the clerk states that Lucy TOMLINSON is wife of said Septimus and that she released her dower right.
