ROBY, Henry O. ROBY, Montreville ROBY, Abraham CRYLER and Kitty his wife, Charles W. ROBY, Mary Catharine RIDGEWAY, Reason C. RIDGEWAY and Joseph T. RIDGEWAY heirs and representatives of Reason ROBY dec'd by Noah C. SUMMERS, Com'r for them for that purpose appointed by the Bullitt County Circuit Court of one part and George W. ROBY of the second part. Witnesseth that whereas in the chancery and by petition for the sale of land and negroes in the Bullitt Circuit Court the said Court did by its decree and orders in said cause direct the sale of 210 acres of land lying in Bullitt County on Cedar Creek South Side of Salt River the same land which Reason ROBY died seized and appointed Alfred J. ROBARDS a Com'r advertised said land to be sold agreeably to the directions of said dec'd at the late residence of said R. ROBY on the premises on the 26 Oct 1849 and on that day said ROBARDS, Com'r attended and made sale of said land as directed by said decree and said George W. ROBY became the purchaser of said land for the sum of $100 and said Comr. made and returned his report of the sales to the October term 1850 of said Court and said court appointed N. C. SUMMERS Comr. to make a deed to said land on the part of the parties of the first part to said Geo. W. ROBY. Wherefore in consideration of the whole premises the said parties of the first part have conveyed to the said George W. ROBY and to his heirs forever the said tract of 210 acres of land so sold aforesaid. N. C SUMMERS, Commissioner signed for the following: Samuel WELLS Harriet WELLS Willis ROBY George W. ROBY William ROBY Henry O. ROBY Montreville ROBY Abraham CRYLER Kitty CRYLER Chs. W. ROBY Mary C. RIDGEWAY Reason C. ROBY Joseph T. RIDGEWAY Recorded 15 Oct 1850 Bullitt County Court The body of the deed gives the name Reason C. RIDGEWAY but when Mr. Summers signed for them at the bottom he signed Reason C. ROBY. I might guess that Reason C. RIDGEWAY is correct and he is the husband of Mary C. (ROBY) RIDGEWAY ... that because Mr. Summers was handling a transaction concerning the estate of Reason ROBY he got his Reasons mixed up? I am curious if that is correct? Was their a Reason C. RIDGEWAY?
