Witnesseth that for the consideration of the sum of four hundred and sixteen dollars and one quarter currency to us in hand paid do hereby sell transfer convey and set over unto the said James DEACON a certain Tract or parcel of land situate and lying in Bullitt County on the head waters of Ceder Creek and being part of Richard JOHNSON's five hundred acre survey adjoining John WHITAKERS four hundred and sixty acres survey. Beginning at a Black Oak and dogwood FERGUSON's corner thence with his line... to a dogwood BROWN's corner also a corner of WHITAKERS ... to a white oak, Black oak and Beach DOWDALS corner... to a hickory at DELANEY's road. KY Deed Book L p. 358 William DEACON of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky to Thomas A. DEACON of the same county and State... for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid has this day bargained and sold one hundred acres of land lying in said County the same hundred acres of land which the said William DEACON purchased of Enock LEACH and wife and bounded by BUKEY's line and CRENSHAW's line. (signed) William DEACON America Ann DEACON Recorded 23 Jan 1849 and though it does not mention Ann in the text of the deed when it was recorded the clerk writes the deed was acknowledged "by William DEACON and America Ann DEACON his wife - the said Ann being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband as the law requires" to release her dower right. 1 Nov 1849 Deed Book L p. 469 William TEMPLE and Susan his wife of Bullitt County and state of Kentucky to Samuel WELLS of same place. For and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars paid as follows: $450 in cash and $250 payable in 12 months with interest from date, the said TEMPLE and wife do bargain, sell, convey the following tracts of land in Bullitt County Kentucky on the South Side of Salt River on the waters of Cedar Creek containing 30 acres more or less being the same purchased of Elisha JAMES in deed of E. JAMES to said TEMPLE recorded in deed book F p. 340 and bounded as follows... Beginning at a sugar tree and dogwood Jas. A. DEACON's corner and running with DEACON's line... to a beech on the bank of Cedar Creek on WHITAKER's line containing 141 acres more or less . The other tract being he same land deeded to TEMPLE by John T. TEMPLE and wife on deed dated 19 Nov 1840 and recorded Deed Book J p. 349 and being the same land conveyed to John T. TEMPLE by Jinnett TRIMBLE by deed bearing date 25 April 1838 recorded Book J p. 104-5. The whole tract containing 171 acres more or less. (signed) Wm.
