All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Patricia O'Connor p-oconnor@att.net June 12, 2007, 11:47 am Salt River Written: March 9, 1805 Recorded: November 15, 1805 Bullitt Co., KY Deed Bk B, p 12 DOWDALL; CRIST; LAYTON; GRAYSON This Indenture made this ninth day of March 1805 between James DOWDALL of Bullitt County and Henry CRIST of the same place and both of the State of Kentucky Witnesseth that the said James DOWDALL for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars currency to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell to the said Henry CRIST a certain tract or parcell of land containing five hundred acres by survey lying and being in Bullitt County and on the south side of Salt River entered in the name of Thomas DOWDALL but patented in James DOWDALLS name. Beginning at a Black walnut Hickory two Hoopashes and live Elm trees on the bank of Salt River at the mouth of a draw and on the upper side thereof thence up the River with it’s meander three hundred and twelve poles to this large Beech tree standing on the Bank of the River and at the lower side of a draw at the fording of the River thence south two hun dred and fifty two poles to live Black Wallnuts and twelve hoops thence west two hundred and ninety poles to a stake in a marked line. Thence North three hundred and seventeen poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said Tract of land with all its appertenances thereunto belonging to the said Henry CRIST him his heirs & assigns forever to there only proper use & benefit and the said James DOWDALL doth hereby covenant and agree that he will forever warrant and defend the before mentioned tract of land from himself and his heirs and from the heirs of Thomas DOWDALL decd and from all manner of persons claiming by them or under them but from no others unto the before mentioned CRIST his heirs or assigns Whereas In Testimony I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and yare first above written 1805 Test.
