POPE the Commissioner appointed by said Court of the one part to Samuel GRAHAM, Catharine ROUSE, Stephen WORKMAN and Jane his wife, John GRAHAM and Sam'l GRAHAM Jr., son of Hugh GRAHAM dec'd of the other part. Witnesseth that John HORNBACK for and in consideration of a decree and in obedience thereto hath granted and Conveyed unto the said Sam'l GRAHAM, Catharine ROUSE, Stephen WORKMAN and Jane his wife, Jane GRAHAM and Sam'l GRAHAM Jr., son of Hugh GRAHAM dec'd a certain tract or parcel of land Containing two hundred and fifty five acres of land Situate lying and being in the County of Bullitt being part of a tract of land purchased by Isaac HORNBACK of Edward WILLIAMS and bounded as follows towit: Beginning at Edward WILLIAM'S South West corner of his Settlement and preemption at a large popular thence East one hundred and Seventy six poles to an ash & Elm thence north two hundred and thirty one poles to a hickory, gum and maple, thence West one hundred and Seventy six poles to a white oak & ash, thence South Two hundred and thirty one poles to the Beginning being the same tract conveyed by Neal HORNBACK to the said John HORNBACK by deed bearing date the 22 day May 1800 and recorded in the Clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court. I started to write poplar but the clerk had an extra vowel there! Popular trees reminds me of deeds over in Madison Co. KY where people seem to often leave their "personality" (personal property )
