GRANT an order was entered at the September 1877 directing W.P. STALLINGS, Joel BALEE, and Casper HERPS as Commissioners of said Court to make division and allotment of said real estate between the parties to said action and the said real estate was divided in accordance with said order and said Commissioners having made their report of division at the November Term 1877 of said Court their said report was by a further order of said court approved and confirmed, and on the 17th day of December 1877 the said Court appointed the undersigned E.W. HALL a special Commissioner to make deeds of partition, conveying to each party the lands and property allotted to them in severalty(?), Now therefore this Indenture made and entered into this ninth day of January 1878 between Preston T. GRANT, Overall GRANT, John GRANT, Franklin WHITLEDGE and Bettie WHITLEDGE by E.W. HALL Commissioner aforesaid of the first part and Alfred GRANT of the second part-Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the premises, and in obedience to said order the parties of the first part by E.W. HALL Commissioner aforesaid, have sold and do hereby convey to said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever the Lot No. 4 described a follows. viz: Beginning at a stone corner to Lots No. 1,2,& 3, thence with Lot 3, S29 E93 1/2 poles to a stone in W.H. JAMES line & with the same N62 E48 1/2 poles to a white oak and ironwood in Richard JAMES line, thence N25 1/4 W933/5 poles to a stone corner to Lot 1. Thence S61 1/2 W53 1/5 poles to the beginning containing 29 1/2 acres. To have and to hold the same with the appurtenances unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, and the said parties of the first part by the Commissioner aforesaid, hereby covenant with the party of the second part, that they will warrant and defend the title of the land and premise hereby conveyed against the claims of themselves and their heirs. State of Kentucky Bullitt County SCT I, E.W. HALL Clerk of the County Court for the County and State aforesaid, do certify that the foregoing deed from John M. GRANTS Hrs. by E.W. HALL Commissioner to Alfred GRANT was on the 21st day of January 1878 presented in open Court and was acknowledged by the said E.W. HALL Cmm. for and on behalf of the parties of the first part to be his act and deed, and lodged for record and said deed having been examined by the Court, was approved and confirmed and so endorsed by the Judge.
