Transcribed by: Melody Tittle (valenaann68@yahoo.com) Submitted: 7 May 2003 ********************************************************************** This Indenture made and entered into this fourth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty three, by and between John HALL Jun and Permelia E. his wife, of the County of Bullitt, and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Felix OWEN of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth: That the said John HALL Jun and Permelia E his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Ninety four dollars and twenty five cents good and lawful money of the United States of America to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold, and do by these presents, grant, bargain, and sell, alien(?), release, confirm and convey unto the said Felix OWEN, one certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Bullitt and state aforesaid, on the waters of Floyd fork and bounded as followeth: towit, Beginning at two ashes and two white oaks in a line of LUTCHES(?) 14000 acres survey, thence with a line of the same S68 1/2 E(for 60) 40 poles to a stone in said line, thence S18 1/2 E68 poles to a stone in the Shepherdsville and Mount Washington road, thence down said road S73 1/2 W16 poles to a stone, thence S70 W10(?) poles to a stone on the side of said road, thence N73 W87 poles to a stone, small white oak ____(?) and plumbtree, thence N 1/2 W (for NOrth) 44 poles to live hickories, and a stone and hackhaw(?) tree, thence N89 1/2 E(for east) 90 poles to a stone in the Field, thence N1/2 W(for north) 32 poles to the place of Beginning, Containing fifty three and an half acres, be the same more or less, together will all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging hereby conveyed, they the said John HALL Jr and Permelia E his wife will and their heirs, executors, administrators shall warrant and defend the title of the same unto the said Felix OWEN his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, against the claim or claims of themselves, and their heirs, and against the claim or claims of all persons claiming by through or under them and against the claim or claims of all person whatsoever lawfully claiming it to claim the same. In Testimony whereof, they the said John HALL Jun and Permelia E his wife, here hereunto set their hands and seals, this day and year first above written. John HALL Permelia E. SUMMERS clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid, do hereby certify that this deed from John HALL and Permelia E his wife to Felix OWEN was produced to me in my office on the 4th day of November 1843 and acknowledged by the said John HALL to be his act and deed, and she the said Permelia E his wife being examined by me privitly and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver the said writing and wished not to retract it and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to her to be here act and deed, and consented that the same might be recorded.
