Deed Bk K p. 399 I have employed H. C. ULEN to defend me in the prosecution now going on against me for the alledged offence of striking William CRENSHAW on the head with a rifle gun and have given said ULEN my note for $25. of this date payable the first day of November and to secure said ULEN in said note, I hereby pact and pledge and Mortgage to said ULEN one rifle gun, one grey mare and all my growing crop now on the lands of Nelson CRENSHAW in Bullitt County - to be void if I or any one for me pay said ULEN the $25 on or before the first day of December next, otherwise to remain in full force virtue in law this 12th day of July 1845.
