KY Deed Book B p.4 Adam SHEPHERD and Rachael his wife of the County of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky and Margaret HAMILTON, Elizabeth GENTRY and Susannah SHEPPERD of the City of Baltimore and State of Maryland by Adam SHEPHERD as Heirs of Peter SHEPHERD deceased of the one part to James McKEVER of the County of (left bland) and state of (left blank) of the other part ... for and in consideration of the sum of Seventeen hundred and fifty dollars current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid... have given granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Bullitt near and adjoining Shepherdsville and bounded by the North Bank of Salt River... and also one other tract or parcel situate lying and being in the County of Bullitt adjoining the said one hundred and fifty acre tract contained principally by the Bed of Salt River and bounded by the lower line of Water Street thence with said street up the River as far as Walnut Street thence with said street to the River thence with the River to a large Beech tree marked A. S. corner to Peter SHEPHERDS... to the Beginning containing one hundred acres.. with the following restrictions and reservations towit As to so much of Salt River that may be contained within the second and last above described tract these presents are to give title to James McKEVER his heirs and assigns with General Warranty only according to patent of Peter SHEPHERD within which it is included The priveledges of the Pipes now on and running thru the aforesaid two tracts of land is to remain to William POPE Jr. His heirs and assigns with liberty to renew and replace them when he or they may think proper and so to remain for nine years from the thirteenth day of August last without compensation to the said James McKEVER. KY Court 20 Oct 1834 Bullitt County Deed Book H p. 78 Hans HAMILTON, James HAMILTON, Mary CROW and Joseph CROW her husband, Joseph CROW, Agent for Jacob TRISTER and Betsey TRISTER, wife of Jacob TRISTER, Thomas HAMILTON, David HAMILTON, Sarah HAMILTON, Benjamin HAMILTON, Agent for William HAMILTON and John HAMILTON of the one part and John HOWLET of the other part. Witnesseth the said heirs of GEORGE HAMILTON Dec’d whose names are written above do bargain, sell and convey a certain tract of land lying and being in Bullitt County Kentucky containing (a blank space that was never filled in) acres and bounded as follows... Beginning at two hickories and Sugar trees on the north side and on the Bank of the Rolling fork near a gully at the yellow banks... to a hickory on HUNTER’s line...and should the said land be taken by a prior claim or claims the said heirs of the said George HAMILTON is to pay the said HOWLETT the sum of Eight hundred dollars without interest. Recorded 31 December 1832 Bullitt County KY Court I was not entirely certain that Jacob and Betsey’s surname was TRISTER but that is what it looked like. They must have not been there to sign the deed as their signatures do not appear at the bottom. 15 Aug 1842 Bullitt Co. KY Deed Book J p. 2 NATHAN EVANS of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part and ROBERT F. SAMUELS, DAVID CASWELL and HAMILTON C. ULEN of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said EVANS for and in consideration after ------ had bargained and sold unto the Said SAMUELS CASWELL and ULEN the following negro slaves Towit: ELIZA, BOB SMITH, TOM WEST, CHARLOTTE, CHARLES, GEORGE, JIM and SOPHIA the first four named being the same negroes this day purchased by said EVANS at Commissioners date under a Decree of the Hart Circuit Court to them the said SAMUELS, CASWELL and ULEN and to their heirs forever. The Condition of this Indenture is that the said SAMUELS, CASWELL and ULEN have this day entered as securities for said EVANS in a note this day given by the said EVANS for the Sum of Eighteen Hundred and Sixty two dollars payable to GEORGE T. WOOD as Commissioner under said Decree. Now in Case said EVANS shall well and truly pay off and satisfy said note at maturity this indenture shall be null and void.
