Circuit Court Deed Bk A, pp 194-197 HARSHFIELD; POPE; SUMMERS Whereas at a Circuit Court held for the Bullitt Circuit at the Court house in Shepherdsville on the 5th day of July 1832 the following decree was made towit: John HARSHFIELD Complainant against In Chancery Elizabeth HARSHFIELD &c Defendants This day this Cause came in for final hearing on the bills answer and exhibits filed in said Cause and the Court being sufficiently advised of and answering the premises do order and Decree that Defendants equity of Redemption in the Mortgaged premises in the bill mentioned be forever barred and foreclosed, that unless the said Defendants shall pay to the Complainant on or before the first day of the next term of this Court the Sum of five hundred and fifty Dollars with Interest thereon at the rate of five percentems per annum from the 11th day of January 1820 till paid, that then George POPE be and he is hereby appointed a Commissioner to Sell and Convey the land in the mortgage mentioned and credit of three months or so much thereof as will be sufficient to satisfy and pay the aforesaid Sum of five hundred and fifty Dollars with Interest thereon and the costs of this _____ after having legally advertised the Same for Sale at the Court house door in the town of Shepherdsville and two of the most public places in Bullitt County for thirty days taking bond and appointed Security for the purchase money." And whereas the said George F. POPE Commissioner as aforesaid in pursuance afsaid decreeded after advertising as by the decree directed on the 19 day of November 1832 at the Court house door in Shepherdsville (the County Court of Bullitt County then being in session sell the said tract of Land on a Credit of three months and John HARSHFIELD the Complt purchased the same at and for the sum of nine hundred and ninety two Dollars Seventy seven Cents being the amount of Debt Interest and costs he the said John HARSHFIELD being the highest bidder. This Indenture therefore made this 21st day of November 1832 between the said George F. POPE Commissioner as aforesaid of the one part and the Said John HARSHFIELD of the other part Witnesseth: That the said George F. POPE Commissioner as aforesaid for and in consideration of the Decree and the Satisfaction of the Deb t Interest and Costs hath granted aliened released conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents do grant alien release convey and confirm unto the said John HARSHFIELD the Said tract of land situate lying and being in the Waters of Knob Creek in Bullitt County State of Kentucky Containing Eighty six acres and hundred as follows towit: Beginning at a white walnut and two beech trees corner to John HARSHFIELD'S land thence at 44o West 82 poles to a sugar tree and beech, thence N 46o E 138 poles to a sugar tree & dogwood thence S44o E 100 poles to a black oak and chestnut oak corner to John HARSHFIELD'S Land thence binding on said HARSHFIELD'S line to the Beginning. To Have and To Hold the said tract or parcel of land and appurtenances unto him the said John HARSHFIELD his heirs executors, administrators and assigns and to his and their only proper use benefit & behoof forever and the Said George F. POPE Commissioner as aforesaid covenants with the said John HARSHFIELD that the said Elizabeth HARSHFIELD Richard HARSHFIELD Frederic HARSHFIELD Lewis HARSHFIELD Walter HARSHFIELD and William HARSHFIELD will & their heirs shall warrant and forever defend the Said tract or parcel of land and appurtenances unto him the Said John HARSHFIELD his heirs *c from the claims of all persons whomsoever In Testimony whereof the Said Geo. F. POPE Comm as aforesaid hereto set his hand and Seal the day and year within written George F.
