For and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid do bargain and sell a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in said County on Knob Creek containing 254 1/2 acres... bounded by Wm. POHON's (I think this must be BOHON but he made the letter P), Peter MILLER, Martin HARSHFIELD, ROBY's being one of RILEY's original corners, the corner of HORINE's... being the same land conveyed by Peter MILLER Jr. to Jacob MILLER Jr. by deed bearing date 27 Dec 1834 and duly recorded in Bullitt County Deed Book H. p. 132. (signed) Jacob MILLER Lucinda (X) MILLER Recorded 17 Mar 1843 Bullitt County KY Court immediately following this on p. 62: Whereas Jacob MILLER Jr. did on the 27 day of December 1834 enter into and acknowledge a bond in the penalty of Five hundred Dollars to Jacob MILLER Jr. in consideration of the Conveyance of certain Lands and property by said Peter MILLER to said Jacob MILLER conditioned that the said Peter MILLER and wife should be supported sufficiently by the said Jacob and his brother John during their natural lives and said Jacob MILLER Jr. having sold and conveyed one half of the land so acquired as aforesaid to Martin McMULLEN for the consideration therein stipulated and also the said McMULLEN to take care of and support the said Peter MILLER and wife consenting to the same. Now the said Martin McMULLEN for and in consideration of the premises aforesaid hereby binds himself in the penalty of five hundred dollars to the said MILLER and wife to take care of and give them a sufficient support during their lives and to do and perform all things stipulated to be done for them by the said Jacob MILLER in his bond aforesaid and the said Peter MILLER and wife hereby agree to be put and placed under the charge of the said McMULLEN to be supported by him as aforesaid in the room and stead of said Jacob MILLER and do hereby release and acquit the said Jacob MILLER from all penalties incurred by his bond for support and for a failure on the part of said McMULLEN to perform the duties hereby enjoined on him. The said McMULLEN and wife are to have the same remedy against him which they might have had against said Jacob MILLER for like failure.
