Deed Book L p. 414 This indenture made and entered into the 9th day of November 1848 between George W. MILES and Minerva his wife of the one part and Warren MERRIFIELD of the other, both of the county of Bullitt and State of Kentucky... for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy dollars to them in hand paid have granted, bargain, convey and confirm to the said Warren MERRIFIELD a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Bullitt County on the waters of Salt River below the Shepherdsville town line. Beginning at a stake near the plank fence at the road leading from the Rolling mill to Shepherdsville being Six & fourteen poles below the western boundary line of the town of Shepherdsville thence N 7 1/2 E 22 2/1- poles to a stake in the line of the graveyard lot... but is is expressly understood that the party of the second part is not to sell, lease or rent any or part of the above premises to any person or persons except those who may be in the employ of the Shepherdsville Iron Manufacturing Company without the written consent of said Company.
