 28 Aug 1796  Bullitt Co. KY Deed Book A 1  Richard JOHNSON by William G. JOHNSON his 
attorney of the State of Virginia and County of Louisa on the One part and Benjamin NEWKIRK 
of the State of Kentucky and County of Jefferson of the other part Witnesseth that the said 
Richard JOHNSON by his attorney as aforesaid for and In Consideration of Two hundred and 
thirty pounds good and lawful money of the Said State have Granted Bargained and Sold unto 
the said Benjamin NEWKIRK one Certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County 
of Jefferson and bordering Salt River Beginning at a Hickory Ash and dogwood Corners with 
Tunis NEWKIRK thence South... to the bank of Salt River.

.  Witnesseth that the said Richard JOHNSON by his Attorney has granted Bargained and Sold 
unto the Said Tunus NEWKIRK one Certain Tract or parcel of land on the waters of Salt River 
containing one hundred and Seventy five Acres for and in Consideration of one hundred pounds 
in hand paid.  Beginning at three poplars from one root....  to two Beech trees in BERRYS 
line.

Know all men by these presents that I Jesse DRAKE of the County of Bullitt and State of 
Kentucky hath sold and do by these presents bargain and sell unto Tunis NEWKIRK of the 
County and State aforesaid one negro woman by the name of Sarah at the age of thirty one 
years.  Also one negro girl child by the name of Harriott of the age of two years the 18th 
day of July next, both of them for the Consideration of five hundred and sixty dollars to 
the said DRAKE in hand paid.  In Witness  Whereof I set my hand and Seal this 24 January 
1818.

the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part to David HALL of the other part 
that for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to them in hand paid doth 
bargain and sell a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in said County of 
Bullitt on the waters of Salt river containing one hundred acres being part of Richard 
JOHNSTON's two thousand acres and bounded  by the line of David SLIGERS and  corner to 
Benjamin NEWKIRK.
