Witnesseth that the said Felix Owen and Mary his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars, good lawful money of the United States of America, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargain, sell, lien, release convey and confirm unto the said Gamaliel Owens one certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being in said County of Bullitt, and State aforesaid, on the waters of Floyds Fork, and bounded as followeth (To wit) "Beginning at two ash trees and two white oaks in a line of (illegible) 14000 acre survey, thence with a line of the same S60 E (for 60) 40 poles to stone in said line, thence S10 1/2 E 62 poles to a stone in the Shepherdsville and Mount Washington Road thence down said road S 78 1/2 W 46 poles to a stone, thence S 70 W 40 poles to a stone on the side of said road, thence N 73 W 87 poles to a stone, small white oak shrub and plumbtree (?) thence N 1/2 W (for North) 44 poles to two hickories, a stone and black(illegible) tree, thence N 89 1/2 E (for East) 90 poles to a stone in the field, thence N 1/2 W (for North) 32 poles to the place of Beginning" Containing fifty three and a half acres be the same more or less To Have and To Hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, together with all (illegible) for the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anymore appertaining unto the said Gamaliel Owen, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to them, and their only proper use, benefit and behalf forever. And the said Felix Owen and Mary his wife, doth by these presents covenant and agree to and with the said Gamaliel Owen, that the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenance thereunto belonging, hereby convey unto him: that they the said Felix Owen and Mary his wife will, and their heirs, executors, administrators, shall warrant and defend the title of the same unto the said Gamaliel Owen, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against the claim or claims of themselves and their heirs, and against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever, or fully claiming or to claim the same. In Testimony whereof the said Felix Owen and Mary his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals this day and year first above written. Felix Owen Mary Owen (her mark) State of Kentucky Bullitt County Court I, Noah Summers Clerk of the County Court for said county, certify that, this deed from Felix Owen and Mary Owen his wife to Gamaliel Owen was the 24 June 1850 acknowledged before me in my office by said Felix Owen to be his act and deed; and the said Mary Owen being examined by me separately and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver said deed, and wished not to retract it. and acknowledged said deed again. shown and explained to her to be her voluntary act and deed, and consented that the same might be recorded and thereupon the said deed and this certificate are truly recorded in my said office, this 9th day of July 1850.
