The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net Transcribed by: Melody Tittle spinnerpuff35@yahoo.com Date: 30 Aug 2002 *********************************************************************** This indenture made this third day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty seven by and between John Hall Jr and Permelia his wife of the County of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Felix Owens of the County and state aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth; That the said John Hall Jr. & Permelia his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained and sold; and do by these presents grant bragain and sell a lien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Felix Owens one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a stone on a branch and in Overton Harris' line, and corner to Gamaliel Owens' fifty eight and one fourth acre survey Thence with Owen's line S 60 E 100 poles to a stone sugar tree and then near a drain area in a line of James Cox's survey, thence with Cox's line S 30.20 (for 30) West 115 poles 23 links to a white oak and stake corner to James H. Good's 65 acre survey Thence with a line of the same N 59 W 99 poles / links to a sassafras, hickory and white oak sapling in Overton Harris' line, thence with the same N 30 E 116 poles 4 links to the place of Beginning. Containing 68 1/4 acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the above described tract or parcel of land, together will all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining unto the said Felix Owens and his heirs executors and to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever: and the said John Hall Jr and Permelia his wife doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Felix Owens that this tract of land and appurtenances hereby bargained sold and conveyed they will and their heirs shall warrant and forever defend the title therof unto the said Felix Owens his heirs executors administrators or assigns against the claims of themselves and their heirs, and against the claim or claims of all persons claiming by through or under them: and against the claim or claims of all other persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In Testimony whereof the said John Hall Jr and Permelia his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written. John Hall Permelia Hall State of Kentucky County of Bullitt, to wit: I Noah C. Summers clerk of the county court for said county certify that this deed from John Hall and Permelia Hall his wife to Felix Owens was the 3rd day of May 1847 produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said John Hall to be his act and deed; and she the said Permelia Hall being examined by me seperately and apart from her said husband as the law requires, declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver said deed, and makes not to retract it and acknowledged said deed again shown and explained to her to be her voluntary act and deed and (illegible) that the same might be recorded, whereupon said deed and this certificate are truly recorded in my office This 6th day of May 1847.
