Transcribed by: Melody Tittle (valenaann68@yahoo.com) Submitted: 7 May 2003 ********************************************************************** This Indenture made and entered into this fourth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty three, by and between Gamaliel OWEN and Eliza A his wife, of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part, and John HALL Jun. of the County of Bullitt and state aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth: That the said Gamaliel OWEN and Eliza A his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars, good and lawful money of the United States of America, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and do by their presents, grant, bargain , sell, alien(?), release, convey and confirm unto the said John HALL Jun. one certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Bullitt and State aforesaid, on the waters of Floyds Fork, entered in the name of MAY and others, and bounded as follows, towit: Beginning at a stone in a branch and in Overton HARRIS' line and corner to Gamaliel OWEN's fifty eight and one fourth acre survey, thence with OWEN's line S60 E100 poles to a stone, sugar tree and then near a drain and in a line of James COX's survey, thence with COX's line S30 20 (for 30) W115 poles and 23 links to a white oak and stake corner to James H. GOOD's(?) sixty five acre survey, thence with a line of the same N59 W99 poles and 7 links to a sassapas(?) hickory and white oak saplings in Overton HARRIS' line, thence with same N30 E116 poles and four links to the place of Beginning Containing sixty eight and one fourth acres be the same more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any will appurtenancing(?) unto the said John HALL Jun his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof(?) forever, and the said Gamaliel OWEN and Eliza A his wife, doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said John HALL Jun that the aforesaid tract or parcel of land together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging hereby conveyed, they the said Gamaliel OWEN and Eliza A his wife, will, and their heirs, executors, administrators shall, warrant and defend the title of the same with the said John HALL Jun his heirs executors, administrators, and assigns, against the claim, or claims of themselves and their heirs and against the claim, or claims of all persons claiming by, through, or under them and against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claims the same. SUMMERS clerk of the County Court for said County, certify that this deed from Gamaliel OWEN Eliza A his wife, to John HALL Jr was produced to me in my office on the 4th November 1843 and acknowledged by the said OWEN to be his act and deed, and she the said Eliza A his wife being examined by me privitly and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly seal & deliver the said writing & wished not to retract it, & acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed and consented that the same might be recorded, thereupon I have this 8th day of Nov 1843 hereby recorded the same and this certificate in my said office.
