Subject: ORME/MAGRUDER mortgage

Bullitt Co. Deed Bk K  p. 272  I James T. ORME am justly indebted to 
Archibald McGRUDER in the sum of 128. and some odd cents and interest for 
about 2 years due by note which said MAGRUDER holds on said ORM and is the 
only debt due MAGRUDER and I am anxious to secure the payment to him. for 
that purpose and in consideration of said indebtedness I said ORM have sold 
to said MAGRUDER and do hereby Sell and convey to said MAGRUDER one bay filly 
3 years old past, and black filly 3 years old past, cow & calf and Muley (?) 
cow about 6 years old, one mans Saddle and bridle now in possession of said 
ORM.  To have and to hold to said A. MAGRUDER and to his heirs forever.  On 
this condition that if the said ORM shall within twelve months from this date 
pay to said MAGRUDER for the renewal of continuance of this or other debts to 
be contracted in good faith, then an as the same shall become due & payable 
as agreed on by the parties and all costs and charges attending the same .  
Then this deed of mortgage to be void and the property hereby conveyed with 
its increase to be reconveyed to said ORM otherwise to remain in full force 
and virtue in law under the mortgage and may be sold agreeably to Law to pay 
said Sums.  Said ORM to retain the posession of the property but not to sell 
or remove the same without the written consent of MAGRUDER and if and when 
sold the same to be for the benefit of MAGRUDER or if exchanged or swapt off 
the property received in exchange to be held and owned as this property and 
liable to this mortgage 12 Aug 1844.  Witnessed the hands and seals of the 
parties.
