Deed Book K p. 133 This indenture made and entered into this thirteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two by and between John RUSSELL and Elizabeth his wife, Benjamin RUSSELL and Phebe his wife, and Samuel CROOKS and Peggy CROOKS his wife of the county of Park, State of Indiana of the one part and Thomas RUSSELL of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth: That the said John and Elizabeth, Benjamin and Phebe, Samuel and Peggy being the legal heirs and representatives of Nicholas RUSSELL, Sr., dec’d have this day for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars good and Lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid... granted, bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land in the County of Bullitt, State of Kentucky, on the waters of Broad run and Floyds Fork, said tract containing one hundred and thirty six and three quarters acres, said survey originally contained one hundred and fifty three quarter acres reference is had to the deed from John GILLAN, attorney in fact for Davie LEITCH to Nicholas RUSSELL for said tract of lands dated 8th day of November 1790, recorded in the Jefferson Co. KY Court 30 March 1832 2 Nov 1796 p. 6 Jefferson Co. Court Minutes show that Benjamin STAFFORD was appointed the overseer of the new road that led from the banks of Cedar Creek by McMANUS on the bank of Floyds Fork to the mouth of Broad Run and that all tithables within two miles were supposed to assist him. Nicholas RUSSELL was appointed overseer of the road from the mouth of Broad Run past Daniel SPARK’s to the mouth of Quillers Run at the Shelby County line and all tithables within 2 miles were supposed to assist him. Also a deed recorded in Jefferson Co. Deed Book 4 p. 289 dated 25 Sep 1795 to from David LEITCH to John RISLEY sells him 200 acres on Floyds Fork bounded by Nicholas RUSSELL, George MARKWELL, William RAY and Alexander MARKWELL and on p. 296 4 Aug 1795 David LEITCH sells 50 acres in the same place to Eliphalet CASWELL bounded by John ROBERTS, John RISLEY, George MARKWELL, James McCOY and John DOULAND.
