KY Deed Book L p. 106 John RAIRDEN and Paulina his wife of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky to John CROAN of the same County and State that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty nine dollars and ninety cents in hand paid the said John RAIRDON and wife have sold and conveyed the following tract of land in Bullitt County on the north side of Salt River on the waters of Cedar point, branch of Knob Creek containing one hundred and eighty five acres and one quarter and twenty four poles of land more or less... whereas MALONA and wife conveyed to said RAIRDON 415 1/4 acres, RAIRDON keeps 114 and 3 acres and 30 poles of land joining BERRYS 100 acres and said RAIRDON sold to Malinda BARBER 114 acres 3 quarter of 26 poles thereof joining said RAIRDON tract and the balance of said tract towit 185 acres 1 quarter 24 poles of land is here sold to said CROAN and said tract joins land of said BARBER, Richard JOYCE's old tract, W. F. CHAPPELL's tract and John WESTFALL's old tract and lays NW and SW of the BARBOUR tract reference the deed of MALONA & wife to RAIRDON. KY Court my note - I think MALONA is probably James MALONA who is seen in both Jefferson and Bullitt records and had was listed as an heir of Joseph and Mary MYERS in Deed Book L p. 240 along with William and Mahala GREEN, Richard & Lydia JOYCE, Joseph and Mary J. MYERS, George and Deborah JOYCE. I have not abstracted the deed so far but made note of the grouping of names ************************************************** 14 October 1848 Bullitt Co. KY Deed Book L p. 347 Jefferson RAIRDON to Sydney MONROE, infant son and only heir of John MONROE dec'd of the second part and Margaret E. FERGUSON, late widow of said MONROE dec'd and her husband Martin FERGUSON of third part by Edwin H. SUMMERS and J D. S. PEACOCK, two of the six regular commissioners appointed by the Bullitt Circuit Court to divide lands in Bullitt County agreeably to law, for that purpose all of Bullitt County Kentucky. Witnesseth That whereas said Jefferson RAIRDEN and John MONROE owned a tract of about 111 acres & 25 poles of land in Bullitt County KY on the north side of salt river on the bank thereof and said land was subject to the dower of Harried CALDWELL, widow of Jno. CALDWELL dec'd which has been laid off to her and MONROE died leaving said land undivided and left a wife, said Margaret now wife of said FERGUSON and one child named Sydney MONROE and said FERGUSON & wife are the guardians of said Sydney - And the parties in interest in said land wishing the same divided called on the said SUMMERS, commr. aforesaid to divide said land and partition the same accordingly to quantity and quality between said Jefferson RAIRDON and said Sydney MONROE which we have done and agreed to be the parties and have reported the same to the Bullitt County Court and which division and report have been confirmed and said court has directed commissioners to convey the parts so allotted to each - to hold the same in fee - to RAIRDON for his part subject to the dower of Harriet CALDWELL and to said Sydney MONROE, her part so allotted in fee, subject to Mrs. CALDWELL's dower and to the dower of his said mother Margaret E. MONROE. In consideration of the premises we the said Edm. H. SUMMERS and J. D. S. PEACOCK Com'r convey said land allotted to him said RAIRDON contains 74 3/4 acres more or less and bounded as follows: Beginning at the N. E. corner of Mrs. CALDWELLS... to the bank of Salt River... to the W. Corner of Mr. CALDWELL. And in like manner the comr. convey to Sydney MONROE the other part of the land bounded by Mrs. CALDWELL, Robert DAVIS .. including the dwelling house of Mrs. CALDWELL... to the bank of Salt River thence up the river with its meanders. KY Court when the clerk records this deed he mentions that the lands were divided up by Robert DAVIS, Nelson GOLDSMITH, Simon H. QUICK and the Surveyor of Bullitt CO. and that those men returned the drawing which shows the land division. There is a sketch showing Jefferson RAIRDON's land with his house drawn very close to Salt River
