Deed Book B p. 208 Ignatious SPINKS of Bullitt County and Commonwealth of Kentucky to Henry CRIST of same place. Whereas Ignatious SPINKS stands justly indebted to the said Henry CRIST the sum of three thousand two hundred Dollars currency in consequence of money paid and to be paid by said CRIST to John McDOWELL, James CALDWELL, John GRINNEL, Wm. SHIRLY and Felix GRUNDY and Joseph HUBBS as the security of said SPINKS. Now the said Ignatious SPINKS in consideration of securing the said CRIST from the damages and costs attending the payments of the above sum to the above mentioned individuals and such other moneys as he the said CRIST may be ultimately bound to pay for the said SPINKS as also the balance of the purchase money for Lands sold by said CRIST to said SPINKS as well also as the consideration of five Shillings currency to the said SPINKS paid in hand the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold the following Slaves and property Viz: Two Negro boys about ten years of age on named Jacob the other _____ (left blank) also two Negro men one named Titus about fifty years of age the other Elgen about forty five years old and two negro women one about forty five years old called Betty and the other Cissaly about sixteen or seventeen years old also one four wheel Carriage called a Coachee at Louisville three feather beds and furniture, one Buroe, two cows and four head of Horses, two blind mares one old bay gelding and a two year colt. And it is understood by the parties hereunto that if the said Ignatious SPINKS shall faithfully pay unto the said CRIST his equitable demand for Horses and land as per bond and also pay off the above sum of three thousand two hundred Dollars to the above mentioned persons or in anywise exonerate the said CRIST from that payment of the said sum with interest & without any deflation or abatement in the above mentioned debts then and from thence forth these presents and every thing relating hereto or therein contained shal l cease and be utterly null and void. The same Ignatious SPINKS doth hereby in addition to the above Negroes and property furthermore also sell and transfer for the better securing the said CRIST as expressed in the foregoing part of these presents the following property - eight pieces of castings consisting of potts, ovens, kettles, two plows and three horse harrow two linning wheels, one woolen wheel, 18 pieces of pewter, 3 bedsteads two chests and two tables two spotted Barro-- and one spotted sow and eight pigs which property are to be disposed of and applyed to the use and benefit of said CRIST in the discharge of the above mentioned debts in case of the defaultation (?) of said SPINKS as above mentioned.
