Deed Book D p. 275 For and in Consideration of the sum of five hundred sixty two dollars fifty cents in hand paid the receipt I do hereby acknowledge I have sold & delivered to JOSEPH A. BROOKS of Bullitt County a negro man named BOB about twenty seven years of age - also a negro girl SINA about Eighteen years of age and I do covenant to and with s’d BROOKS his heirs etc. that said negro man and girl is slaves for life and that they are sound and healthy and free from all and every bodily defect with the exceptions of a lameness in one of the girl’s hands and do also covenant to and with s’d BROOKS That I will and that my heirs Executors etc. shall warrant and forever defend said Negro man slave to him his heirs etc. against the claims of all and every person whatsoever.
