Deed Book A2 p.287 Know all men by these Presents that I WILLIAM WHITLEDGE of Bullitt County for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bare and have for my Son THOMAS WHITLEDGE as well for the further consideration of One Dollar to me in hand paid the Said Thomas WHITLEDGE have given granted & Confirmed unto the said THOMAS WHITLEDGE a Certain part of a Tract or parcel of land lying and being in Bullitt County as is specified in a pattent obtained by me from ISAAC SHELBY, Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky bearing the date 20 July 1793 and bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at a Hickory dogwood & Beech trees standing in OVERALL WHITLEDGE’S line Corner to JOHN WHITLEDGE Running thence with his line South 55 Degrees East 242 1/2 Poles to a White Oak and Elm thence north 35 Degrees East 124 Poles to two Beeches Corner to WILLIAM WHITLEDGE Junr. in JNO. EDWARD’s line thence North 55 Degrees West 242 1/2 Poles to a Ash and two dogwoods Corner to OVERALL WHITLIDGE thence with his line 35 Degrees West One hundred and Twenty four Poles to the Beginning Said to Contain 188 Acres And One Quarter to be the Same more or less to have and to hold the above mentioned Premises unto him his heirs and assigns forever. For and in Consideration of the sum of one Dollar to him in hand paid have given granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land lying and and being in the County of Bullitt on the waters of Ceder Creek and Floyds fork and bounded by THOS. Deed Bk I p. 155 JOHN WHITLEDGE of Bullitt County Kentucky to WILLIAM G. WHITLEDGE, WILLIAM S. BROOKS and JOHN CLARKE of the second part. Witnesseth that JOHN WHITLEDGE for the natural love and affection he has and bears towards said son WM. G. WHITLEDGE and his Sons-in-law BROOKS and CLARKE for the sum of one dollar from each of them to him in hand paid does sell and convey unto the said William G. WHITLEDGE, WILLIAM S. BROOKS and JOHN CLARKE as tenants in Common the following tract of land in Bullitt County on the south side of Salt River on the head waters of Rock Run and Ceder Creek, containing 162 acres more or less and bounded as follows towit: Beginning at a sugar tree marked E. S. near the big road on TOMLINSON’s line, thence north one hundred and eighty poles to a dogwood and white oak marked I. W. TOMLINSON’s corner, thence South Sixty degrees West Eighty poles, sixty eight poles to a white oak EMMENS (?) corner, thence with EMMENNS line North forty seven degrees, West one hundred and twenty six poles to a gum & black oak... to a branch on FERGUSON’s line being the same tract of land conveyed to said JOHN WHITLEDGE by HENRY CRIST by deed dated Dec 1832 recorded in deed book H p. 57, Bullitt County Court.
