Deed Book B p. 387 Carty WELLS of the County of Shelby and State of Kentucky of the one part to Abraham MILLER of the county and State aforesaid. For and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid hath granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Bullitt containing four hundred acres patented to the said Carty WELLS 4 Jan 1786 and bounded as follows: Beginning at a white oak and gum standing on the west side of the road leading from Bullitts lick to the falls of the Ohio and about one mile northwardly from Philips cabbin and said road. WELLS of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the first part and George W. MATHIS of the County and State aforesaid. Witnesseth that whereas the said Stephen D. WELLS and George W. MATHIS jointly purchased a tract of land containing three hundred acres more or less of Frederick PENNABAKER and wife deed dated 1st April 1848 and of record at the Clerks office of the Bullitt County Court, and for a full description of said tract of land reference is made to said deed. Now for and in consideration of the said George W. MATHIS having paid five hundred and eighty four dollars, seventy nine cents of the purchase money hereby released and conveys to him all right and interest in the said tract of land which is bounded by John SLACKS 100 acres and the line of Jacob MYERS 400 acre tract.
