Deed Bk B p. 242 Simeon YEWELL of the County fo Bullitt and State of Kentucky to Tobias WILHOIT of the same County and State of the other part. For and consideration of the sum of one dollar current money of the United States of America to him in hand paid hath bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in Monongahalea County on Minger Creek in the State of Pennsylvania formerly the estate of John ARMSTRONG deceased and devised by John ARMSTRONG his son to Mary WILHOIT as by the will of said John recorded in the County Court of Nelson in the said Commonwealth of Kentucky and being the same land conveyed by said Tobias WILHOIT and the said Mary his wife to teh said Simeon YEWELL by Deed bearing the date 25 Oct 1806 recorded in the County of Bullitt. KY Court 31 Aug 1808 immediately following: 31 Aug 1808 Tobias WILHOIT and Mary his wife of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky to Simeon YEWELL of the same County and State of Kentucky. Whereas James BARBOUR gave his certain writing obligatory bearing date 25 November 1794 to Mark FINKS and James YEWELL binding himself to convey to them by deed one half of a survey containing five thousand four hundred and eight acres of land lying and being in Hardin County and after execution of the said writing Obligatory the said BARBOUR departed this life not having executed Deed b conveyance agreeably to the said writing obligatory or appointed by will or otherwise any person or persons and to make the conveyance aforesaid several of the representatives of the said James BARBOUR dec’d being now residents and having no agent or attorney in fact and whereas also the said James YEWELL assigned over to Simeon YEWELL the said writing obligatory for his half of the land which was to have been conveyed by BARBOUR to FINKS and YEWELL and the said Simeon YEWELL also for a valuable consideration assigned the same over to the said Tobias WILHOIT who by the said Simeon YEWELL applyed to Benjamin FIELD & George ASHBY Commissioners appointed by the County Court of Ohio County for the division and Conveyance of land agreeably to an act of assembly & who thereupon divides the said 5408 acres of land and conveyed two thousand seven hundred and four acres the half thereof to the said Mark FINKS & the said Tobias WILHOIT which said two thousand seven hundred and four acres of Land. KY Court NOTES: Tobias Wilhoit is often in Mercer County (he is buried in the Shaker Cemetery in Mercer Co.) and his wife was Mary/Polly SHIRLEY. Tobias WILHOIT comes first from Culpeper Co. VA. He and Mary have a daughter Catharine/Caty who marries Leonard TROUTMAN. The John ARMSTRONG (Jr.) mentioned above is found in the Nelson Co. Will Book where he wills the above to Mary Wilhoit. The will is just a few lines, he appears to have no wife and few possessions.
