KY Will Book G p. 543 In obedience to an order of the Bullitt County Court appointing us the undersigned commissioners for the purpose of making a division of the lands owned by Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd between his widow and heirs we proceeded and met on the 6th day of January 1868 and after first being duly Sworn continued from day to day until we finished the division which is shown and explained in the within report. First we laid off to Gilly RICKETTS, widow of said Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd all the cleared land decreed to her and about five or six acres of timber inside the fence which adjoins the cleared land all of which is bounded as follows: Beginning at a sugartree beech and small walnut on the north bank of Wilsons Creek about eight poles above the upper end of the ten acre bottom... to a Stake in the Boston road. We also allotted to said Gilly RICKETTS Lot #5 of timbered land which is bounded as follows beginning at a Caning (?) beech corner to William WATERS line thence to a stake in DUVALL's branch thence up the branch... to a division corner to HARNED and wife ... to a stake in the Boston road thence to a stake in Wm. WATERS line thence with the Same to the beginning containing 7 1/2 acres. We also allotted to said Gilly RICKETTS lot #6 of timber being part of 95 acres patented to Jonathan RICKETTS and bounded by a division corner to MILLIGAN's heirs ... thence to DUVALL's Corner in FINN's Settlement line... containing 45 acres. After we laid off to said Gilly RICKETTS the above named lots described we divided the other several tracts between the twelve heirs as herein shown and explained: Lot #1 - we allotted to John RICKETTS being on twelfth lying in Nelson County and bounded as follows: Beginning at the white oaks (one down) on the point of a knob original corner to Joseph LEWIS 1124 acre Survey... to SMITH's Preemption... to a stake on the north bank of Wilson's Creek corner to land deeded by Jonathan RICKETTS to Wm. RICKETTS thence down Wilson's Creek with Wm. RICKETT's line to two elms below the mouth of a branch Wm. RICKETT's corner then crossing creek to a stake on the south bank of the creek.... thence up said branch with the meanders to LEWIS line containing 82 acres. Lot #2 we allotted to Lavilla RICKETTS being one twelfth beginning at the mouth of KURTS branch with its meanders to a stake in LEWIS line of his 1124 acre survey thence with LEWIS now TROUTMAN's line to a persimmon, elm & oak on the West side of Mosley's run division corner to lot #3 allotted to George STICKLES thence to an oak near the bank of Wilson's Creek thence up the creek to the Beginning containing 54 acres. Lot #3 - we allotted to George STILES it being the interest of one twelfth bought of W. A. & S. RICKETTS, sons of Nancy RICKETTS who was the daughter of Jonathan RICKETTS. Beginning at the mouth of James run on Wilsons Creek corner to 150 acres deeded by Jonathan RICKETTS to George and Mary STICKLES thence up James run to the mouth of Mosleys Run division corner to lot #2 thence with her line to division corner of lot #4 thence with said line to a beech on the bank of Wilsons Creek down the creek to Beginning containing 56 acres. Lot #4 We allotted to Susan MASDEN, widow of Wm. MASDEN and daughter of Jonathan RICKETTS and bounded as follows: Beginning at a red oak near the bank of Wilsons Creek near a Spring division corner to lot #2 thence to a corner to George STICKLES thence with his line to a beech on the bank of Wilsons Creek... to the Beginning containing 36 acres. Lot #7 we allotted to Melvina MILLIGAN, widow of Joseph MILLIGAN and daughter off Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd which includes the house in which said Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd lived and is interest of one twelfth and bounded as follows: Beginning at a beech and white oak stump in SMITH's Preemption line and corner to said SMITH's survey of 200 acres, and division corner to George HARNED and wife thence with their line to the east bank of Wilsons Creek above the mouth of H. B. WATERS branch thence up the creek to a corner of S (?) MASDEN's fence and division corner to her Melvina's children's lot thence with their lines to a stake on the corner of the garden plank fence.... to a white oak & hickory in Said SMITH's line of 200 acres thence with same to the beginning containing 39 acres. To Sarah Ann MILLIGAN, Elizabeth MASDEN, wife of Taylor MASDEN, Volumba (?) MILLIGAN, Lavilla BARNES, wife of Thomas BARNES, Thomas MILLIGAN, Jonathan MILLIGAN, George F. MILLIGAN, Gilly MILLIGAN and Joseph MILLIGAN, children of Joseph MILLIGAN dec'd who purchased the three interests of one twelfth each as follows: one interest or twelfth of Jonathan E. RICKETTS, one twelfth of James F. RICKETTS and one interest or twelfth of Wm. RICKETTS the three last named are sons of Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd we have allotted to them Lots # 8 & 9 bounded as follows: Beginning at the north side of the Wilsons Creek road corner to Wm. RICKETTS 40 (?) acres thence to a large hickory corner to William RICKETTS 150 acres, thence with is line to a sapling in WATERS line of 277 acres thence with his line to a corner to 100 acres patented to Jonathan RICKETTS in a line of SMITHS 200 acres thence with SMITHS and a line of sai 100 acres... to a division corner to Melvina MILLIGAN... thence with her line to a stake opposite the corner of the garden plank fence... to a beech on the South bank of Wilsons Creek near the corner of Susan MASDEN's fence thence up Wilsons Creek as it meanders to a stake in the South bank of the creek to two elms on Wm. RICKETT's corner thence to the Beginning containing by excluding the creek 160 acres. We also allotted the said children of Joseph MILLIGAN lot #9 which is part of 95 acres patented to Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd and bounded as follows ... Beginning at 2 Hickories and a sapling in Wm. RICKETTS line and division corner to Gilly RICKETTS dower of 45 acres thence with Wm. RICKETTS line to oaks & ash corner to Jonathan RICKETTS 155 acre patent and division corner to George HARNED and wife...north of a hollow supposed to be in the Eastern line of said 95 acres and division corner to said Gilly RICKETTS thence with her line to the beginning containing 50 acres. To George HARNED and Elizabeth his wife who was a daughter of Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd we allotted Lots # 10, 11, 12 & 13 the said Elizabeth HARNED's interest is in one twelfth and said George HARNED having purchased three interests or shares of one twelfth each one share from John STICKLES and Sarah his wife who is also a daughter of Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd, one share or twelfth of Wm. STARKE and Arthusa (? very faint) his wife who is also a daughter of said Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd, one share or twelfth from Hardin MASDEN who acquired his title from his son James H. MASDEN who was the son of Eavy MASDEN, daughter of Jonathan RICKETTS dec'd the said Elizabeth HARNED's interest in the four lots above named is one fourth and George HARNED's interest three fourth said lots are bounded as follows: Lot #10 is bounded by a small walnut on the north bank of Wilson's Creek upper corner to Gilly RICKETTS decreed land thence with the fence... to branch corner to RICKETTS 40 acre tract thence to a honey locust at H. B. WATERS corner... thence to a stump division corner to Melvina MILLIGAN tehnce with her line to the bank of Wilsons Creek above the mouth of H. B. WATERS thence down Wilsons Creek to the mouth of James run, corner to 150 acres deeded by Jonathan RICKETTS to George and Mary STICKLES then down the creek to said STICKLES line to the begining containing 95 acres after deducting the creek. Lot #11 containing 155 Patented to Jonathan RICKETTS which is bounded as follows: begining a dogwoods corner to RICKETTS 95 acre Patent...to a branch in WATERS line... to oaks in WALTON'S line thence with WALTONS line to a bottom field lying on Wilsons Creek and adjoining the Boston road and bounded by the bank of Wilsons Creek, corner to Gilly RICKETTS cleared land to a stone in the Boston road ... to the south bank of Wilsons Creek in a line of 150 acres deeded by Jonathan RICKETTS to George and Mary STICKLES.. back thence crossing the creek to the beginning 13 acres & ten acres, 2 roods.
