Contributed by catmom1@aol.com Date: 17 May 2002 ***************************************************************************** FIELD, Henry and Suky or Sucky Virginia File # W.8811 On May 12 of the year 1818 in Bullitt County in the state of Kentucky, the said pensioner appeared in open court and gave the following affidavit. He states that he had enlisted in the fall of the year 1775 in the state of Virginia to serve for a tour of one year under the command of Captain John GREEN and in the fall of the year 1776 he left army. At the time of this application the said pensioner wa at the age of 65 years. The affidavit of Abraham FIELD was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing. The said deponent stated and swore that the said pensioner had really served as he had stated from the fall of the year 1775 until the fall of the year 1776. The affidavit of Colonel Richard TAYLOR was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing, and the said deponenet stated and swore that the said pensioner had really served as he had stated and he also swears that he himself had been a Lt., in the same company as the said pensioner. The affidavit of James ALEXANDER was also given at the smae time and in the same place as the foregoing. The said deponenet stated and swore that at one time he had been well and favorably acquainted with the said pensioner and he also swears that the said pensioner really did need the aid of his country for his support. On May 28 of the year 1821 in Bullitt county in the state of Kentucky, the said pensioner at the age of 70 years appeared in open court and stated that he had served under the command of Major Richard TAYLOR and Colonel Patrick HENRY and that he had been taken from the ranks of General FINNEY in order to carry expresses. He also stated that he had applied in the month of May of the year 1818 and that his pension was numbered 6743. He said that by occupation he was a farmer and that his wife was at the age of 56 years. He further stated that he had four sons and eight daughters and that one son is at the age of 14 years and is partly blind and sickly and resides with him. On February 22 of the year 1839 in Bullitt county in the state of Kentucky, Suky FIELD, the widow of the said pensioner Henry FIELD, appeared in open court and stated that they had been married in Stafford County in the state of Virginia on March 4 of the year 1789 and that their marriage had been recorded in a Bible which at the time was in the possession of her daughter, Willow FARRIS. On February 22 of the year 1839 in Bullitt county in the state of Kentucky, Willow FARRIS appeared in open court and stated that she was the fourth child of Suky and Henry FIELD and that she has in her possession the Family Bible in which appear the following records: Henry FIELD married his second wife, Suky WITHERS on March 4 of the year 1789. Henry FIELD was born on February 3 of the year 1755 and he died on May 27 of the year 1823. Suky Waller Huett FIELD was born April 4 of the year 1790 and died on July 30 of the year 1792. James Withers FIELD was born on May 29 of the year 1791 and he died on November 22 of the year 1807. Lucinda FIELD was born on December 26 of the year 1792. Willey (Willow) Waller FIELD was born on March 17 of the year 1794. Nancy FIELD was born on December 25 of the year 1794. Jane FIELD was born on October _4 of the year 1797. Hannah FIELD was born on December 27 of the year 1799. Henry Peyton FIELD was born April 4 of the year 1801. Susanna Huett FIELD was born on April 11 of the year 1803. Malinda FIELD was born on April 12 of the year 1805. Charles Withers FIELD was born on December 16 of the year 1807. Sally S. FIELD was born January 20 of the year 1811 and she died on July 12 of the year 1814. Sukey Waller WITHERS, daughter of James and Sukey (Susan Waller) WITHERS, was born on January 19 of the year 1765 and she married on March 4 of the year 1789 to Henry FIELD by whom she had the above children. Charles Y. WHEELER and Malinda FIELD were married on April 12 of the year 1832. Susan Huit WHEELER was born on February 26 of the year 1833. William F. WHEELER was born on July 22 of the year 1835. Suky FIELD, the widow of the said pensioner, was on the Kentucky Roll of Pensions at the rate of $40 per annum and her certificate of pension for that amount was issued on September 27 of the year 1839 and it was then sent to N. C. SUMMERS at Shepherdsville in the state of Kentucky. She also received $40 per annum and her certificate of pension for that amount was issued on July 29 of the year 1843 and it was then sent to N. C. SUMMERS at Shepherdsville in the state of Kentucky. The said pensioner himself, Henry FIELD, was on the Kentucky Roll of Pension at the rate of $8 per month to commence on May 12 of the year 1818 and his certificate of pension for that amount had been issued on February 10 of the year 1819 and it was thereupon sent to the Honorable R.
