Court Orders, Book G, page 20 14 Jan 1839 It was this day proved in open Court by the oath of George F. POPE that Joseph SAUNDERS late a pensioner of the United States for Revolutionary Services departed this life -(no widow and left) - leaving the following named persons as his children and heirs towit Nath'l P. SAUNDERS, Bepiland LUCKY married to John LUCKY, Thomas J. SAUNDERS, Julia married to Joseph R. MURRAY, Susan married to John BARNES, Sarah married to Charley W. DOZIER and Nancy married to Lancaster D. FENTRISS and that since the death of said Joseph SAUNDERS the said Nancy FENTRISS has died leaaving the said Lancaster D. FENTRISS her husband and the following Infant children Ellen Saunders FENTRISS, Francis Josephine FENTRISS, and William Dozier FENTRISS -- and Abner GORE being also sworn in open Court proved that the aforesaid Joseph SAUNDERS departed this life on the 13th day of August 1838 -- and that Thos. J. SAUNDERS is the Identical person named in original Certificate now here to this Court shown having date the (blank) day of (blank) and signed by Lew CASS (not sure of this name) Secretary of War granting to the said Jos. SAUNDERS a pension of (blank) per annum and No. (blank)
