The Annie Hardy mentioned is Celia Ann Clark daughter of Davis Clark and Mahala Dickey. Celia Ann Clark married John Raymond Hardy. Shepherdsville, Kentucky Xmas 14th, 1937 Pg. 1 Dear brother and sister I will try to answer your letter I received but a few days ago it is not worth while to say we were not glad to hear from you all once more we were more than glad, and to know that you all are still living. but sorry to hear that Jim got hurt. I do hope he is all right and better by now. We are all well at this time and having good health. with real winter weather here now Pg. 2 I guess you all have read all about the flood I can't tell it any worse than it was. The dammage to Kentucky alone will run into over a million dollars to property and livestock. We were not in the Flood exactly but we could stand in our yard and see all over the Salt river bottoms. It was just from hill to hill to tell it right. Although I was not satisfied with what I could see at home Pg. 3 my neighbor had a flat boat we went to Shepherdsville in it all you could see was water. We dared all over the town in the boat. Their was not a house in Shepherdsville that the water wasen't in. It has effected the whole Country. I had my Automobile in the Garage in Shepherdsville during the flood and haven't got it yet think I will get it this week and hope so at least. Pg. 4 Well I had a letter from Dave Simpson's little girl about the sometime I got yours. One from Aunt Annie Hardy and on from Maud Langenour lives in Woodland Cal. Jim I all so had a letter from Everet Crenshaw. You remember him I guess. The first I had heard from him since we bought the Farm from them he is up in Arizona. I thought he was dead it had been about thirty years since I ever heard from him. Back of page Well I guess I will close for this time will try and think of more next time.
