Miss. Grace Fellows has returned to her home in Tennesse after spending several months with her cousin Miss. Amelie Lee Oaks. Miss. Nannie Mooney is visting friends and relatives in the city. Miss. Sophia M ___(I can not read) of Butflo , Ky is visting her sister. Mrs. W.C. Ward. Mr.and Mrs. Richard Wathen are in the city for several days. Miss. John Daniel is all smiles , as his best girl has returned to her home after spending a delightful time in the city. Mr. George Jenkins of Lebabon Junction , and miss. Blondina Harned of boston were unitied in Holy Bonds of Matrimony last Tuesday at the Rectory at Bardstown Junction . May thier path be one of flowres and sunshine. Mr. and Mrs. William Jasper and grandaughter, little Genevieva McClure , are spending this week in Louisville and Jeffersontown. the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Elia Jasper. Mrs. Jane Hall has returned to her home at Livingston after a visit with relatives here. Miss. Lulie Swearingen has returned from a visit in Louisville and Jeffersontown. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Anderson of Willsonville are guest of of Mr. and Mrs. John Hough , parents of Mrs. Anderson. Miss. Mayble Parrish has returned to Louisville after a short visit to her sisters. Mrs. Ed. Brown and miss. Jennie Parrish. Mrs. William Clark and son Chas have returned froam a two days visit with Mrs. Bettie Porter , at Jeffersontown. Mrs. N.E. Sweeny and sister Miss. Marga Sweeney , of Elk Creek , spent Sunday with Miss. Maggie Gentry. The Bridge across Salt River at Smithville will be closed July 2. A road above the bridge has been prepared for crossing. Mr. J.D. Cora Hardy visited her parents here Saturday and Sunday. Miss. Virgie Kelly is at home from the city at presant. Mr. and Mrs. James B. Dawson were with thier sons, Clarence and Hillary here last week. Mr. George Kelley , wife and children visited his parents Mr. and Mrs.C.A. Kelly last week. Dowdy and wife visited Mr. Will Hogland and wife Sunday. Mr. Charles Dodd was on Strawberry hill Saturday night and Sunday. Croaa and Shepherd took thier engine to Louisville last Friday to have it boarded out They expect to cut lots of lumber when it is returned. Mr. Jessie Johnson was out Sunday looking for a girl. Mr. J.A. Dowdy and robert Holsclaw went fishing Saturday evening and caught cold. Mr. J.W. Holsclaw was in this neighborhood a few days ago. Mrs. Howell is very sick at this writing. The doctor thinks she is taking the fever. Mr. and Mrs.R.H. Holsclaw were in Shepherdsville last Friday. Paul and Dutch Howell went to see thier mother Sunday. Our new telephone line is in very bad condition , we can't talk to but a few who are on the line. The young ladies and gentlemen of this place are very sorry that Mr. Simmons has postphone his pinicnic . they were all expecting to attend, but they say now that they will attend one at Lebanon Junction the Fourth. We hope they will have a good time. We join the news in congratalating the newly married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maraman . Mrs. Charley Dodd , Oscar Croan , Geo Cundriff and Tom McClure were in Louisville one day last week. Mr.J.C. Holsclaw is expecting to build a new residence this fall. Mr. Clark and Mrs. Burks just got under shelter in time Sunday evening to keep out of the storm, be we think they would just soon stayed out and taken the storm as they occupied the swing under the big plum tree the rest of the evening. Lena Harris spent last Sunday with Marie Hatfield. Mrs. Daisy Middleton , of Salt River , and Mrs. Claud Roney of Louisville, spent last Wensday with Mrs. Dr. Houck. We are very glad to hear of Mr. Clarence Crenshaw getting along so well , and hope he may soon be out again and have ggod use of himself . We were sorry to hear of the trouble. Miss. Carrie Hogland has gone to Louisville after a weeks Visit with her parents. I do not know what is the matter with the officers of Bullitt County . I think if they would atten the picnics and public gatherings they would find something else to do except fishing and hunting. The "Id"nis on at Clermount on Sundays , as some of our friends are setting out in front and some of our citizens of Chapaze were sitting in the rear last Sunday, the "Id" must be on at Chapaze too. I am going back to meet her in the dear old home once more, for she's ever in my dreams by night and day, iam longing for my sweetheart who is waiting by the shore, Where the Suwanee river winds it's silvery way. ___________ Examining Trail . Hays , monday , and held over await the action of the Grand Jury . his bond was fixed at $ 100.00 Mr. ___Hatfield , charged with obstreperously , uncerimoniously impiously , throughtlessly, unlawfully and willfully daming injuring, destroying and running personal property was arrasigned before Judge Hayes last Saturday and after an exciting trail , was turned loose by his honor and allowed to go back to the flowery della and daisy-bedecked meadows of Clermont. Several car loads of steel for the bridge has arrived , and work will begain at once. Senator Carroll and family was here returned to the city after spending the summer here. T.C. Carroll will enter State Collage at Lexington next Monday. S.F. Barrall was in town Wensday. Squire Griffin of Cupio was in town Wensday. Bunch Williams passed through town Wensday on his way too tee Bardstown Fair with his educated horse. The Jury Commissioneers met at the Courthouse Wensday and filled the jury wheel for the extra term of court which will be held in November. We are sorry to hear of Mr. S.P. Smith being confined to his bed with Malaria fever. Bert Hall of Mt.Washington was down this week smiling as usual. William Harris , the "Ladies Man " from the city of Mt.Washington , was in town several times this week , he says he always comes to Shepherdsville when he's not courting the ladies. Miss. Lillian B. Arrest Sep-29-1908 Bullitt County Irby Innis was arrested Tuesday by Jailer Croan , Sheriff Campbell and John Summers, Charged with detaining a female against her will. he gave bond for his apperance and was released. The Same Official also arrested young Mr. Snawder . Charged with drawing a deadly weapon on an other. he also gave bond. Both cases will be called for trail by Judge Hays, Friday Morning at ten O'Clock. Sept, 24, 1908 Bullitt County News Gossip Mt. Washington Mrs. Nancy Tyler and daughter Miss. The Infant child of Mr. and Mrs. William Anders was buried Friday. The most violent rain and thunder storm of the year struck this little city early Sunday morning doing considerable damage . Lighting struck the barm of Mr. Tom Lloyd , killing two horses and one mule and injuring a young colt. The lecture Sunday night given by mr. E.A. Fox , Secretary of the Kentucky International Sunday school Association , on his trip to Jerusalem, was enjoyed by a large crowd. Mr. George Mckenzie left for Louisville Monday to purchase her millinery goods, and will be ready for more ladies Sept 17. Died, Sunday morning , at his home near Smithville , general Haison Higdon, Colored. "Uncle General," as he was known was probably the oldest negro in this part of the State and was highly respected. __________________ Compliments Newspaper Men. Rev. William H. Main of Hartford ,Conn, in a resent sermon expressed warm appreciation of the energy and skill of newspaper men and the importance of the journallist profession , remarking that St. Luke must br regared at the frist reporter of the Christian era.
