D. ALLEN was not able to preach, but J. E. FISHER was in charge at the morning and told of the destructive work of the Devil when he gets into a person's life. The Young People gave a program at the evening. The W. S. C. S. met last Wednesday at the home of Mrs E. T. McAFEE, for the installation of a new officer. Owing to the illness of the pastor, Mrs Lena HALL presided in her usual efficient manner, making it a lovely and solemn ceremony. Born to Mr and Mrs Earl BASS, a baby girl, Joetta. Rev. M. D. ALLEN received word of a new granddaughter, born to the wife of their son, Braxton at Dayton, Ohio, named Mary Jane. Mr and Mrs Geo PADGETT have a new grandson, born to their daughter, Maydell, wife of F. O. CARRITHERS, Detroit, named Kenneth Ray. Sgt. William F. PORTER and Sgt CAVANAUGH, M. P. spent from Sunday until Tuesday with the former's mother, Mrs Marion PORTER, while on a business trip. Mrs Paul HORNER and baby, (of) Lawrenceburg were also weekend guests of her mother. Sgt R. Lee McAFEE Pvt. C. N. TICHENOR, S-Sgt Larry LUTES and wife, T-Sgt Oliver HARRIS and wife, are all returning to their respective fields of service. Stanford HARRIS is stationed at Camp Siebert, Alabama. Mrs Zella MOORE has joined her husband, Cpl Marvin MOORE at his station in Florida. Mrs Lucian RULE, her daughter Mrs Kenneth McCLURE, and baby Pamela Ann, Goshen, Ky. were overnight guests of the former's mother, Mrs Lillie McCLURE and daughter Miss Grace. Mrs. Lamar RICHARDSON and two sons who have been with her parents, Rev and Mrs M. D. ALLEN left last week to join her husband at Richmond Virginia. Mr. and Mrs Cole PRATT have sold their home to Mr and Mrs J.R. CORNELL. Mr and Mrs M. R. PORTER entertained Sgt R. Lee McAFEE and Mr and Mrs Darrell HARRIS at 6 o'clok dinner last Wednesday Evening. Mr and Mrs J. L. HICKMAN and Linton LEE, Fairfield, Mr and Mrs S.F. SMITH were after church guests of Mr and Mrs H. P. WIGGINGTON. Attention! Mrs Vernon C.MOORE was an overnight guest last Thursday of Mrs Sam PENN, Louisville. Mr and Mrs Robert WRIGHT , Fairfield, spent Sunday Night with her mother, Mrs Kate Abell. Paxton and Frank PARRISH , Louisville, visited their parents, Mr and Mrs T. H. PARRISH Sunday Afternoon. Mr and Mrs Darrell HARRIS were Sunday guests of her mother, Mrs Georgia MOORE; in the afternoon they visited Mr and Mrs Howard WHEELER, Buechel, Mrs Sam PENN, Louisville was also a guest and Mrs MOORE returned home with her. Mrs Jeanette SUTHERLAND was a dinner guest Wednesday of mrs Katie COWARD. Mrs M. D. ALLEN, Jr. and Shirley Ann, Owensboro, are visiting Rev. M. D.. ALLEN and wife. Mr and Mrs Max ROUSE were guests Sunday of Mr and Mrs C. L. STANSBURY and Mrs T. V.ROUSE. R.E.McAFEE and Oliver NAGLE called on Mitch MOORE Monday afternoon. Mr and Mrs R.O. SWEARANGEN, Mrs. W. E. SHOWALTER, and Miss Sue SWEARANGEN visited Mrs. C. F. JASPER, Jeffersontown Sunday Afternoon. ****
