Mrs. C.E. Rodgers spent Sunday afternoon with her daughter Mrs.Freddie Sadler and family. Mrs. J.V. Shaw attend the RailRoad Fair in Chicago last weekend. Mr.and Mrs. Ross Lee Birdwell spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Starus Hall. Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Ratliff and Mr.and Mrs. Elmer Downs spent Sundayin Barstown visting the Farnworth and Mr.and Mrs. W.E. Down. Roy Maraman left Monday for a few days for fishing in the lakes in Canada. Mrs.Archie Maraman and daughter Susan Ann spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Newman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Ireland and Durard were Sunday afternoon guest of Mr. and Mrs. Herny Edmondson of Louisville. Little Janet Lee Stallings has been visting her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stallings. Miss. Charlene Ashby spent Saturday with Mrs. Gerald Simms. Mr.and Mrs. Gerald Simmos were guest of Mr. Simms parents Sunday. Miss.Kathryn Weller flew to St. Petersburg Fla for Labor Day weekend. Mrs. Alberta Maraman has returned from Washington D.C where she had been working for several years and will be working in Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Weir spent the night with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ashby and Family. Mr.and Mrs. Roy Maraman and Mr. and Mrs. Welter of Okolona left Sunday for a fishing trip in Minn. Mrs. Mary Hartman of Boston is visting her daughter Mrs. Ben Parrish and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Henderson visted mr. and mrs. Joe Chappell Friday night. Mrs. Clarence Dawson was in louisville Saturday. Mrs. Garnett Magruder was the guest of Mrs. Charlie Ashby Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robinson spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hall and family and Mrs. Starus Hall and family. Mr. and Mrs. Buster Rodgers are visting Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Sadler and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hamilton and children have taen an apartment in Louisville where MR. Hamilton will attend the Louisville school of Medcine. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Gentry and sons, Mr. and Mrs. M.R. Hall, Mr.and Mrs. L.C. Stallings,and Riva Lane Stallings and C.G. Stallings and children were Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stallings. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ash and Ramona and Miss. Hilda Ogle attend the State Fair Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Jones ,Mr.and Mrs. Aklen Jones and son spent Saturday night in Indianapolis were they attend services at the Cadle Tabernacle on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hill, Mrs.G.Dawson , Mrs.O. D.Hill and Larry Edwards have returned from a trip fron Charleston Miss where they visted relatives on there return trip and stoped a couple of days at the Kentucky lake with Bill mcFarland former SuperIntendent of the Bullitt County Schools. Virgil Roby ,who has become Ill of health is soon to leave for Arizona where the high dry air seems to be helpful. ___________________ Knob Creek 9-16-1949 Gossip The Nichols Family Reunion was held at Ferguson's Grove Sunday over 100 attend everyone brought basket loaded with fried chicken,country hams,homemade cakes etc, the family has been meeting each year for over 20 something years, they certainly must tip the wealther man for it has been sunny skies for the occasion each time. Mrs. Marvin Hopewell spent Monday night with Mr. and mrs. Chas Ridgeway and family. Ethel Dawson spent Monday with her sister Mrs. Wayne Hopewell. Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Parrish were Saturday guest of her parents ,and Mrs.A.N.Yancy of Sacramento Ky,they went to Owenboro and attend the Methodist conferance. Mr.and Mrs.Kenneth O.Beall(France Clark) of Pico Califorina announced the birth of a son Orville Kenneth 1Mo on Sept 9,1949. Mrs.Zelma Lynch of Lebanon Ky spent the weekend with her sister Mrs.J.M. Mayo is the new pastor of the Belmont Baptist Church. _______________________ Mt.Washington 9-23-1949 Gossip Mr.Hoke Harris and family were guest of Mr. Ike Boston Friday night. Mrs. Robert Hall, Shepherdsville road , fell last Thursday and broke her leg and is in Norton Infirmary for treatment, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hall are staying with her people in her absent. Mr.and Mrs. Oliver Harris spent the Sunday in Louisville with her sister Mrs. Walter Murphy and Mr. Murphy. ___________________ Lebanon Junction 10-21-1949 Lebanon Junction Man Loses leg in accendent Jack Thompson, a Rail Road employee residing at L.J. suffered a bad accident at Broadhead, Id"RockCastle County early this week when he slipped from a train and had his leg crushed beneath the engine, the leg had to be removed, Thompson has been employed by the R.R. for many years and was assigned to a train crew on the Lebanon Branch of the L &N his Condition was describe yesterday as serious but reported as Improving. __________________ Shepherdsville 10-21-1949 Mr.H.G.
