CLARK, of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Eliza SHORT, of Ashland, Ky., are guests of Mrs. John CLARK. Mr. and Mrs. H.T. CUMMINGS and Misses Mary and Lula JAMES, of Dayton, O. are visiting relatives here. Miss Sallie SCOTT, of Memphis, Tenn., is the guest of her cousin Miss Clara SCOTT. Wm. WOERNER and wife, formerly of Jefferson county, but now of New Mexico, are visiting relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. C.E. BEARD have returned to their home at Jeffersontown after visiting Mrs. BEARD's mother, Mrs. Angeline SWEARINGEN. Mr. and Mrs. W.H. McCLAIN, who have been visiting W.T. COCHRAN and family, have returned to Bardstown. Jesse CRUME Jr., accompanied by his sister, Miss Sue CRUME, of Taylorsville, are guests of Mrs. Frances CLARK. They have just returned from visiting their sister, Mrs. Ben ELDER at McALLISTER, I. T. Mr. and Mrs. H.W. FISHER have returned from a trip to Florida. GUTHRIE; of Fairmount at 4 o'clock p.m., Thursday August 8, Mr. Orlando TYLER and Miss Lena McCoy GUTHRIE, were married. The Rev. E.W. ELLIOTT preformed the ceremony. Miss Ruby TYLER and Robert GUTHRIE, were the attendants. An elegant six o'clock dinner was served, The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. GUTHRIE, and is an accomplished and beautiful young lady. Mr TYLER is a prosperous farmer. They will make their home with the groom's mother mother, Mrs. Nancy TYLER, of Smithville. The popular young couple have a host of friends who wish them much happiness and prosperity. Miss Bernice BARNES had as her guests Sunday, Misses Parilee SCOTT and Lulie STARKS, of Zonton, and Miss Catherine FABER, of Louisville. Miss Viola ROSE is spending a week at Elk Creek, with Miss Margie SWEENEY. Dr. and Mrs. Jess CRENSHAW, and children of Redlands, Cal., arrived Sunday to be guests of Mrs. CRENSHAW's sister, Mrs. William McGEE. Their many friends are glad to see them back. Ed BARNES and son, Henry BARNES, of Kissimmee, Fla. are visiting relatives here. Misses Nellie Mayo SCOTT and Mary BELL, who have been visiting Mrs. J. C. Quarterly meetings was held here Saturday and Sunday by the Presiding Elder, the Rev. B.M. MESSICK. Baily TAYLOR, of Clermont spent Sunday here.
