She ran to Mr. Simmons' residence, some distance off, and reached the house in a fainting condition. When informed what the trouble was, Mr. Simmons and two of his hands started in pursuit of the man, and chased him to the cedar glades, where he escaped them by hiding in some of the numerous caves abounding in that vicinity. This is no doubt the wild man who has been seen several times in this neighborhood, and who makes his headquarters in the old house known as the "haunted brick." Several efforts have been made to capture this wild speciman of the genus homo, but so far they have been unsuccessful. Dec. 1,1891
