Funeral for both the victims were held at the Methodist Church. On Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. D. R. Peak, a former pastor, held services for the young man, John Franklin Smith. A large crowd and many lovely flowers testified of the friendship and loving association in which he was held. Funeral services were held for Clarence A. Porter Thursday at 2 p.m. by Rev. S. J. Henninger, assisted by Rev. D. R. Peak, both former pastors, and Rev. C. K. Dickey, the present pastor. Being a successful business man connected with varied affairs commercial and agricultural, his friends and business associates were widespread. The immense crown that came to honor him and the beautiful floral tributes were evidence of their esteem and affection.
